The reason for the formation of Swarajya Party were:
(i) The discontent among the new members of Congress like Nehru who were unhappy with the sudden end of the noncooperation movement and wanted to continue a movement against the British without any break within the Congress. (ii) Congress was against taking part in the coming elections as it was not satisfied with Montague-Chelmsford reforms. However, Motilal Nehru and C.R.
