Intensive subsistence agriculture are classified based on two different types of cultivation such as –

1. Intensive subsistence agriculture dominated bywet paddy cultivation.

2. Intensive subsistence agriculture dominated bycrops other than paddy.

Agriculture and industry both are miles apart from each other but there are certain industries which are dependent on agriculture and these types of industries are called agro-based industries. An Agro-based industry refers to those industries that are developed based on the agricultural raw materials.

The significant features of this industry are:

1. It involves the processing of raw materials from thefield and farm into finished products.

2. Major Agro processing industries are food processing,sugar, pickles, fruit juice, beverages, spices, and vegetable oil.

3. The textile industry is one of the examples because whether its cotton, silk, jute, and woolen.All have some element of agriculture in it and therefore textile can be called as an agro-based industry.

We have been able to develop technology after under understanding the natural laws. Man discovered fire after understanding the concept of fire. He invented aeroplane after understanding the laws of aerodynamics. We have conquered many diseases after understanding the secrets of DNA and genetics.
