Sustainable development is essential for economic growth because:
1. Sustainable development refers to utilizing the available resources in the best way because it is required for the economic growth of any country.
2. Sustainable economic development will take place only when the environment is not damaged and the need of the present is not compromised with that of the future.

Two situations because of which the European trading companies interfered in the political affairs of India in the eighteenth century were:

1) The disunity amongst the various Indian rulers who were always at war with each other

2) The rulers greed for revenue from the new companies or their need of military help from them and the lack of any strong political power in the south help them in taking part in the politics of Indian rulers.

Two main objectives of the British Government to spread education in India were following:

1) To meet the requirement of increasing numbers of Indian posts the government required educated persons, so they aimed at spreading the english education in India.

2) Another motive behind this was that English educated Indians would help expand the market for British manufacturers in India as well as to reconcile the Indians to the British rule.

Casteism creates hindrance in our social development. The casteism has an adverse effects on our society.

1) It leads to social inequality among the people in the society.

2) It sometimes leads to discrimination of the people on the basis of caste, that results in violence nad protests.

Two ways by which the Indian people reacted to the partition of Bengal were:

1) Boycott movement in which use of British goods, work for British services and education in english schols and colleges were boycotted.

2) Indian education, goods were  promoted.

The most important cereal crop of India is Rice.

The two major producing states of this crop are:
1. West Bengal
2. Punjab

Two man made factors responsible for landslides are:
1. Large scale deforestation leads to massive soil erosion and slope instability. This is considered as one of the major man made factor responsible for landslides.
2. Mining and quarrying for extraction of minerals in the hilly areas is another major reason for landslides.

Two ways to help a person if we find her/him in a burnt state are:
1. Immediately immerse the burnt area in cool water or apply clothes soaked in cold water.
2. Cover the area with a dry, sterile dressing and not cotton or other fluffy material.

The different thrust areas of human development are as follows:

1.Health
2.Education
3.Living Standard

Out of these thurst areas, education plays the most significant role in the development of a human being.
